Funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Mission 4 Component 2 Investment 1.3, Theme 10.
In a context of growing attention to the environmental, health, and social challenges linked to the food system, the national network OnFoods – Research and Innovation Network on Food and Nutrition Sustainability, Safety and Security – has significantly contributed to the development of knowledge and tools to promote healthier and more sustainable diets, as well as to strengthen networking among Italian research bodies.
In particular, the Integrated National Food Policy (INFP) project, under Spoke 7, Work Package 7.4 of OnFoods, has examined Italian policies aimed at supporting healthy and sustainable diets.
This conference aims to highlight the outcomes of the “Policies for Healthy and Sustainable Diets” Working Table, set up within the INFP project, and to further expand the dialogue among scientific research, institutional stakeholders, actors of the production system, and representatives of civil society. The goal is to build a shared and forward-looking vision of future food policies.
The presentation of the INFP project results will serve as a starting point for a round table devoted to analysing the barriers and opportunities for adopting sustainable dietary models, fostering interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder dialogue.
The day is intended as a moment of synthesis and discussion, oriented towards the definition of a shared framework of recommendations, useful to inform public policies, stimulate changes in corporate strategies, encourage innovation in production processes, and promote more conscious and sustainable food behaviours among citizens.
