Meeting on research, innovation, and opportunities for businesses and territories offered by PNRR and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)

In Bari on September 12, during the 86th edition of the Fiera del Levante, EIT Food, in collaboration with the Puglia Region, Department of Economic Development, and Department of Agriculture, Rural and Environmental Development, is organizing a comprehensive event to discuss technological transfer initiatives that can enable agri-food companies to address the challenges of ecological, energy, and digital transition.

InnovItaly is a day filled with meetings and insights on the importance of academic research for innovation, implementation, and sustainability transitions, as well as the opportunities and challenges for businesses offered by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The event will also focus on EIT, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, which has been working since 2008 to strengthen Europe's innovation capacity by integrating businesses, education, and research to find solutions to pressing global challenges.

The morning will begin with an overview of European strategies for innovation in the agri-food ecosystem, with a focus on the world of EIT and its opportunities for Italian companies, universities, and public entities. Following that, two roundtable discussions will delve into opportunities and challenges for businesses and research, featuring presentations on the two PNRR projects: the National Center for Agricultural Technologies AGRITECH and the Extended Partnership ONFOODS. Additionally, there will be insights from innovative companies involved in EIT and PNRR projects.

After a networking aperitif with local companies and producers, in the afternoon, young researchers and startups will participate in a roundtable discussion on the topic of research and innovation.
