Daniele Del Rio, Patrizia Riso, Alberto Dolci, and Matteo Vittuari, as representatives of the OnFoods project, will speak about research and innovation for sustainable food systems from production to consumption, with particular reference to the challenges faced by the sector in the Italian context.

  • Daniele Del Rio – The OnFoods project: The national partnership to promote healthy, sustainable food systems and dietary patterns.
  • Patrizia Riso – Challenges towards improved food quality and nutrition: The OnFoods Contribution.
  • Alberto Dolci – The potential of public-private partnerships to move forwards in the development of a common strategy.
  • Matteo Vittuari – Research and innovation for sustainable food systems: from ideas to policy and behaviors.

The session will be held on 9 September at 2:45 PM, in Castello 1 room. It will be moderated by Sebastiano Porretta, President of the Italian Association of Food Technology.

Congress venue: Palacongressi di Rimini, Via della Fiera 23  – 47923 Rimini (IT)

IUFoST 2024: the programme

The programme will include industry-based workshops, distinguished plenary and keynote speakers, industry-led concurrent sessions, applied research presentations, and a plethora of networking opportunities, with more than 2,500 delegates from the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and worldwide.

The congress aims to outline the new challenges that the sector will face and, for this reason, will host the multi- and interdisciplinary meeting of all the scientific communities.

There will also be a side programme of both professional (visits to major food companies) and tourism interest (Venice, Milan, Rome, Naples, etc.).

Many scholars conducting research within the OnFoods project, either as RTDa or PhD candidates, will also participate in the conference with presentations (oral communication or poster presentation).
