The research group of the Laboratory of Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition, coordinated by Prof. Hellas Cena, has recently published a new e-book dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle during the First 1000 Days of Life. The e-book has received the patronage of the Associazione Nazionale Specialisti in Scienza dell'Alimentazione (ANSISA).

Designed as a practical tool to support outpatient clinical practice, the e-book is intended for gynecologists and other healthcare professionals involved in maternal and child care. Simultaneously, it provides clear and reliable guidance for women during pregnancy and breastfeeding. All contents are evidence-based and aligned with the most recent national and international scientific guidelines.

The e-book is organized into six chapters addressing the main nutritional and lifestyle aspects:

  1. Physiological changes and nutritional requirements

  2. Food safety

  3. Nausea and constipation during pregnancy

  4. Eating well during pregnancy: an act of care for mother and baby

  5. Making healthy eating easier through effective planning

  6. Lifestyle during pregnancy: balance and healthy habits

By combining scientific rigor with practical advice, this e-book aims to support informed choices and promote maternal and child well-being during a crucial window of development.

Edited by Irene Bianco, Federica Loperfido, Francesca Sottotetti, Beatrice Maccarini, Chiara Ferrara, Dana El Masri, Rachele De Giuseppe, and Hellas Cena.
